Career Development & Resources for Students with Disabilities

Students are encouraged to explore their interests and abilities to develop a clear career development plan. The resource list below includes job and internship sites that you can apply to, as well as, resources relating to handling disclosures and workplace accommodations.

Current OSS students are encouraged to schedule a consultation appointment with the OSS Career Liaison Sonia Doyle, who can help you explore your career goals and connect you with your assigned Career Advisor at the Cahill Career Center.

The American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) Summer and Fall Internship programs are a professional and career development opportunity for disabled students and recent graduates to access meaningful employment, gain leadership skills, and connect to the broader disability community.

Job Accommodation Network (JAN)

JAN provides free consulting services for all individuals, regardless of employment status. Services include anonymous one-on-one consultation (by phone or online) about all aspects of workplace accommodations, including but not limited to the accommodation process, how to manage disability-related disclosures and ADA compliance assistance.

New York Adult Career and Continuing Education Services-Vocational Rehabilitation (ACCES-VR)

New York Adult Career and Continuing Education Services-Vocational Rehabilitation (ACCES-VR) – New York State ACCES-VR starts with the presumption that all individuals with disabilities can benefit from vocational rehabilitation services and should have opportunities to work in jobs integrated within their communities.聽 Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors guide individuals through service programs they need to reach their employment goal.

Workforce Recruitment Program (WRP)

The Office of Specialized Services is a participant in the Workforce Recruitment Program.

About the Workforce Recruitment Program

The Workforce Recruitment Program (WRP), coordinated by the U.S. Department of Labor and
the U.S. Department of Defense, is a recruitment and referral program that connects federal
and select private-sector employers with highly motivated college students, graduate students
and recent graduates with disabilities who are eager to demonstrate their abilities in the
workplace through internships or permanent jobs.

Who Can Apply?

Students and recent graduates from 69色情视频 can apply to WRP if they:

  • have a disability and are eligible under the Schedule A hiring authority
  • are a U.S. citizen or national (residents of American Samoa and Swains Island)
  • are enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program on a substantially full-time basis
  • have graduated with a degree on or after April 1, 2022.

New and returning WRP applicants must register and complete an application each year to
continue to participate.聽 Student registration will open on August 26, 2024.
