Faculty select and monitor the clinical facilities used for students’ learning experiences. The Generic partnership program allows the students to work primarily within recognized centers of Excellence in Nursing. Other health care facilities are used dependent upon course objectives and students’ learning needs. The facilities include acute care institutions, long-term care facilities, community health agencies, outpatient/ ambulatory care settings, professional organizations and occupational health/industrial sites. The clinical sites provide students with the experiences that enable them to develop the knowledge and skills required to meet their respective program’s outcomes.

Students work with faculty and preceptors (where appropriate) to plan their experiences in order to achieve course objectives. In the generic baccalaureate programs, clinical associate faculty and faculty direct and oversee students’ performance in the clinical area.

Evaluation of clinical facilities is done on an ongoing basis by the students and the faculty.
