The Academic Review Committee (ARC) is a standing committee of the Faculty Assembly that offers guidance to faculty about curricular matters, and then reviews their proposals before moving them along in the curriculum review process. ARC primarily considers proposals for new and revised courses and academic programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels, whether they are credit bearing or not. Academic programs include, but are not limited to: undergraduate majors, minors, and certificates; 4+1 programs; and graduate degree programs.
ARC is governed by the bylaws of the Faculty Assembly, of which it is a standing committee; it is also beholden to official college policies, as applicable.
2026-27 ARC Application Due Dates & Important Info
Per our ARC Manual, last updated in spring 2026 (PDF), in 2026-27, ARC will continue to accept applications in the platform on a rolling basis. ARC will work with other key stakeholders to move proposals through the curriculum review process in a timely manner. The later in the year that faculty submit applications, however, the less likely they are to be included in the 69色情视频 Catalog for the following academic year. To give your application the best chance of being included in the 2027-2028 69色情视频 Catalog, we suggest submitting applications on by October 15, 2026 to allow proposals as much time as possible to complete the various stages of the curriculum review process.

Before filling out your 2026-27 ARC application, you must do the following:
- Please discuss your application with all faculty, convening groups, and academic units/deans impacted by your proposal. If you apply, for example, to have a HIST course also count for the MKTG major, conversations about your proposal in the HIST and MKTG convening groups and HGS (HIST) and ASB (MKTG) units should occur before you begin your ARC application. Once all relevant convening groups and units/deans have endorsed your application, please reach out to your ARC unit rep (listed at the bottom of this page), letting your rep know that all relevant convening groups/units/deans support your application. Your rep will then look over any related syllabi and discuss other elements of your application, ensuring that everything is complete, so that your proposal is not sent back to you for revisions. If any questions come up along the way, your rep is there to help guide you.
- Every ARC proposal should have a brief rationale explaining your application, describing (or listing out) what existed before, what you are proposing, and noting why you are doing so. **We request that you that you have completed Step 1 above (note the names/roles of the people you contacted and that they approved). We recommend typing up your rationale (e.g., on a Word Doc) before starting your ARC application, so that you can later copy and paste it into
- Please consult the ADA-compliant 2026-2027 Syllabus Template Form聽to ensure that every syllabus contains the elements on that template. You must include a syllabus for every course referenced in your application (e.g., a syllabus for a new/revised course, relevant syllabi for courses in a new/revised program). If your syllabi do not have the elements specified on the ADA-compliant 2026-2027 Syllabus Template Form, the entire proposal will be sent back to you to revise.
