This program is jointly offered by 69色情视频 of New Jersey and the Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences – School of Health Related Professions (Rutgers-SHRP). Our Allied Health Technologies major is designed for students who would like to train in the field of respiratory care. These health care professionals will be trained to work alongside physicians and other professionals in the care of patients.

Students must complete 96 credits, including General Education requirements, School of Theoretical and Applied Science requirements, and a preprofessional core. They then can be admitted to a professional program at Rutgers-SHRP. The Allied Health聽professional program consists of 3-4 academic semesters (up to 18 months) of full time study in respiratory care. Upon completion, students receive a joint B.S. Degree from Rutgers-RHCP and 69色情视频, and qualify to declare a minor in Biology.

Respiratory Care
Respiratory therapists are health care specialists who participate in the diagnosis, treatment, management, education, and preventive care of patients with disorders of the cardiopulmonary system. Some of their primary responsibilities include medical gas therapy, humidification and aerosol therapy, drug administration, bronchial hygiene therapy, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, maintenance of artificial airways, and ventilator management.

• Application for this program is due by February 15 of the students’ junior year at Ramapo.聽聽Applications received beyond this deadline will be considered if enrollment capacity in the major has not been reached. A minimum G.P.A. of 2.75 is required and a grade C or better in all the program prerequisites.

1. Transfer students who have 48 or more credits accepted at the time of transfer are waived from the courses marked with a (W) below.聽 Waivers only apply to General Education Requirements NOT School Core or Major Requirements.
2. Double counting between General Education, School Core, and Major may be possible.聽 Check with your advisor to see if any apply.
3. Writing Intensive Requirement (six courses): 聽three writing intensive courses in the general education curriculum are required: First Year Seminar, Critical Reading and Writing, and Readings in Humanities; the other three courses are taken in the major.

Note: A 2.0 GPA in the major is required for graduation.
