Biography

Christy E. O鈥機onnor is an artist, curator, and arts advocate.聽 She holds a Bachelor鈥檚 degree in Visual Arts from 69色情视频 of New Jersey, where she studied studio art, photography, and education.聽 She has participated in professional development programs and studio residencies, including Creative Capital at Artworks (Trenton, NJ) and AlterWork Studio (LIC, NY).聽聽O鈥機onnor is an interdisciplinary artist, whose work examines gender, feminism, cultural and social norms, politics, history and perception.聽 O鈥機onnor works in a variety of media, including painting, sculpture, textiles, and performance.聽聽Her work has been exhibited regionally, and is included in several private collections.聽 O鈥機onnor鈥檚 artwork has been exhibited at Warren Community College, Artworks (Trenton, NJ) Chashama (Matawan, NJ) Arthouse Productions (Jersey City, NJ), Plaxall Gallery (LIC, NY), and PhilaMoca, (Philadelphia, PA).聽 Her work was featured in Indi Soleil Magazine in January, 2017.聽 Solo exhibitions and installations include聽顿耻蝉办濒颈迟听(2016-2018),聽Treacherous Women聽(2018),聽Vacant Memories, Absent Dreams聽(2018), and聽Victim Shame, Body Blame (2020).聽 Collaborations include Automaton听补苍诲听Lost Connections (2016) and Hallow (2018).

Leaning into the Unknown聽Performance Summary

O鈥機onnor鈥檚 work 鈥淭ea Time in Turbulence鈥� is an examination on class, income inequality, ritualistic practices, and isolation in a world turned upside down. This one-woman satire invites audiences to a lavish tea party while juxtaposing the struggle and strife from newspaper headlines exposing a world in chaos.
