ARIZONA CASES
Limberlost Park John Doe 2008 (AZ)

The remains of were found April 17, 2008 in Tucson, Arizona.

John Doe was 5’11” tall and weighed 150 lbs. He was clothed in a white shirt, blue jeans, black tennis shoes and had in his possession a prayer book from “Priests of the Sacred Heart” in Hales Corner, Wisconsin.

The RCNJ IGG Center is teaming up with the and to identify this John Doe.

Ajo Tattoos John Doe 2014 (AZ)

Update 12/7/23: Students in our Fall IGG Certificate Program have discovered new information about Ajo Tattoos John Doe. This man, whose remains were found near the town of Why, Arizona in 2014, is now believed to be of Mexican descent.

The remains of were discovered April 18, 2014 near the town of Why, Arizona. He is believed to have been 6’1″-6’4″ in height and 18-25 years old at his time of death and had distinctive tattoos including multicolored nautical stars and a clown with “Smile Now, Cry Later”

The RCNJ IGG Center is once again teaming up with to identify Ajo Tattoos John Doe 2014. has successfully extracted DNA from skeletal remains of this John Doe which will soon undergo sequencing to obtain a profile suitable for genealogy.

El Mirage Jane Doe 2022 (AZ)

The remains of were discovered behind a remote desert area at a local golf course in El Mirage, Arizona on December 22, 2022.

She was estimated to be between 56 and 80 years old, 5鈥7鈥 in height, and weighed 114 lbs. She had brown hair and no obvious scarring or tattoos.

We are excited to partner with the to identify El Mirage Jane Doe.

Phoenix Bus Stop Jane Doe 2023 (AZ)

We are proud to partner once again with the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office to identify . Jane Doe was found deceased on February 8, 2023 at a bus stop located at 711 West Grande Avenue in Phoenix, Arizona.

Jane doe had multiple tattoos, and wore a blue coat, a blue tank top, grey sweatpants, and multicolored socks. She was estimated to be 45-65 years of age at the time of her death.

Kolb Skeleton John Doe 1977 (AZ)

was discovered in the boathouse garage of photographer Emery Kolb in 1977. Initially thought to be Glen Hyde, a man who vanished in 1928, further investigation revealed that the remains were originally found in the Grand Canyon in 1933 and likely belonged to someone else.

Now, archival images and evidence are being used to help identify the individual after more than 50 years. We are proud to partner with Coconino County Medical Examiner鈥檚 Office and Astrea Forensics to identify the Kolb Skeleton.

Apache Junction John Doe 2002 (AZ)

was last seen alive on April 28, 2002 by a good samaritan who brought him water. John Doe was later found deceased on May 2, 2002. He was believed to be living a transient lifestyle in the desert.

John Doe is believed to have been between 26-44 years of age at the time of his death. He had a number of unique tattoos including an asterisk on the webbing of one hand, a possible letter “F” on another hand, as well as larger tattoos of a woman in a hat and a woman’s face with a bird.

El Mirage John Doe 1992 (AZ)

The remains of were found in a vacant lot near heavy machinery on September 11, 1992. He was believed to be a young adult, 23-28 years old at the time of his death, standing approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall. Near the man’s remains, a green hat was found which had “Colorado” and “Safety Leader” printed in white as well as an image of a train traveling between two houses.

We are proud to partner with the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office to identify El Mirage John Doe.

Tucson Doe 2023 (AZ)

was found unresponsive near a business in Tucson, Arizona on December 19, 2023. They were transported to a hospital, but later passed away. Tucson Doe had fingerprint matches to the names “Stacey Ann Newbaum” and “Mary Olsen” as well as a prior arrest under the name “William F. Williams” (2006 photo, inset). Tucson Doe was likely assigned female at birth, was 5 feet 1 inch in height, and is estimated to have been between 55-89 years of age at their time of death.

Scottsdale John Doe 2005 (AZ)

The body of was recovered from a canal in Scottsdale, Arizona on May 20, 2005. Investigators believe he may be of Native American, Hispanic or Asian descent or may be biracial. His height was approximately 5’5” and his weight was 130 lbs at the time of his death. He is believed to have been between 19 and 34 years of age when he passed away just days before his remains were discovered.

Santa Rita Jane Doe 2000 (AZ)

The skeletal remains of were discovered by hunters in the Santa Rita experimental range near Sahuarita, Arizona in 2000. She was believed to have died between 1997-1999 and was likely 50-90 ears of age at the time of her death, placing her year of birth at 1907-1949.

An orange bedspread and duct tape were found near Jane Doe’s remains.

Mesquite Tree John Doe 1982 (AZ)

On September 5, 1982 the cranium of an adult male was discovered beneath a mesquite tree in a desert area near Tucson, Arizona. Due to the limited remains recovered, the decedent’s height and weight could not be determined, and his age was estimated at 25-40 years old.

Mohave County Jane Doe 1989 (AZ)

On the day after Thanksgiving in 1989, the remains of an unidentified adult woman believed to be 25-30 years old were found near Interstate 40 just south of Kingman, Arizona. was 5′ 1″-5′ 5″ in height and estimated to weigh 115-120 pounds at the time of her death. She is believed to have died within three months of when her remains were found.

Jane Doe had strawberry blonde hair and was wearing a floral patterned blouse and blue jeans.

Advanced DNA testing has revealed that Jane Doe is most likely of Ashkenazi Jewish Descent with ancestral ties to Eastern Europe.

CALIFORNIA CASES
San Juan Capistrano Jane Doe 2014 (CA)

The remains of San Juan Capistrano Jane Doe were found in Casper鈥檚 Wilderness Park in Orange County, California in 2014.

She was estimated to be 30-60 years of age with shoulder-length, wavy, dark brown hair with light colored highlights. With her remains, investigators discovered a bright green hair scrunchie band and dark colored windbreaker with 鈥淐oach Williams鈥 embroidered on the chest.

We are honored to partner with the to help restore Jane Doe鈥檚 identity.

COLORADO CASES
Colorado Springs John Doe 1986 (CO)

The remains of Colorado Springs John Doe were discovered on November 3, 1986 approximately four miles west of Interstate 25, in the Midway Ranch area South of Colorado Springs. John Doe is believed to have been 5鈥4鈥 to 5鈥7鈥 in height, 30 to 40 years of age, and was wearing blue Calvin Klein Jeans and a blue/green sweatshirt at the time of his death. His cause of death was determined to be a gunshot wound.

Our team is working with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office in Colorado to identify John Doe.

FLORIDA CASES
Altamonte Springs Jane Doe 1974 (FL)

The remains of an unidentified woman, known as Altamonte Springs Jane Doe, were discovered behind what would later become the Interstate Mall near the intersection of I-4 and Hwy 436 in 1974. Estimated to be between 30 and 50 years old, she was about 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighed approximately 160 lbs, with light brown hair. Her attire at the time of discovery included a a light-colored, crew neck sleeveless knit shirt with a 10″ zipper in the back, metal yellow rings (pictured), and a white bra labeled “exquisite form”.

According to a report in The Orlando Sentinel dated November 26, 1974, the metal yellow rings were described as a “gold wedding band that contained three diamonds: a three-carat diamond in the center with one carat stone on each side. The other ring, also gold, contained three one-carat diamonds.”

We are partnering with the and the to restore Altamonte Springs Jane Doe’s identity.

Orange County John Doe 1996 (FL)

The remains of Orange County, Florida John Doe were found on March 21, 1996 in Orlando, Florida. Due to features of his skeletal remains, it was believed that John Doe may have fallen or jumped from a great height, perhaps from an airplane.

John Doe was estimated to be 16-20 years of age at the time of his death. He is thought to have been a black male standing 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall. It is believed that he died 1-2 years prior to the discovery of his remains in 1996.

DNA testing and upload to accessible genetic genealogy databases has revealed that John Doe may have been from the islands of St. Maarten or Anguilla.

We are partnering with the and Florida’s to identify Orange County John Doe.

MAINE CASES
Unity John Doe 2020 (ME)

The jaw bone belonging to was discovered in a creek bed in Unity, Maine in 2020. John Doe’s height and weight could not be estimated as only his jaw bone was recovered. However, his age was estimated to be 25-35 years old at the time of death.

MISSOURI CASES
St. Louis John Doe November 2021 (MO)

The remains of a partially buried adult male were found off of Grant’s Trail in St. Louis County, Missouri on November 27, 2021. He is estimated to have been between 5′ 7″ and 6′ 1″ tall, but his approximate age, hair color, and eye color are unknown.

NEW HAMPSHIRE CASES
New Hampshire John Doe

The skull of New Hampshire John Doe was discovered in 1979 or 1980 during a police investigation of a residence.

The skull is believed to have belonged to a male, but the origin of the skull has never been determined.

69色情视频 IGG Center has partnered with Astrea Forensics to generate a DNA profile for John Doe. We are thankful to be working in collaboration with University of New Hampshire’s lab and the New Hampshire State Police Cold Case Unit on this case.

William Martin “Billy” Vosseler and Charles Jason “CJ” Vosseler were abducted by their father, Charles Martin Vosseler, on October 9, 1986. Since that time, Charles M. Vosseler is known to have taken them to live in Stillwell, Oklahoma prior to possibly fleeing the United States. The boys have not been seen or heard from by their mother, Ruth Casper, in over 37 years. However, Ruth has not given up looking for CJ and Billy and maintains hope that she will find them.

Billy and CJ would be 41 and 42 years old today, and their father Charles (photo and age progression below this description) would be 83 years old. They may be living anywhere in the world, and Billy and CJ may believe that their mother passed away when they were young. Per the podcast Murder, She Told which covered this case in depth including interviews with Ruth, Charles “has a condition in his right eye called horizontal nystagmus. It causes it to vibrate back and forth. He has a tic鈥攈e tilts his head to the right, and bobs his head slightly up and down when concentrating.”听 for kidnapping and unlawful flight to avoid prosecution and a reward of up to $25,000 is offered by the bureau for assistance in capturing him.

NEW JERSEY CASES
Oldmans Township John Doe 1978 (NJ)

The remains of were discovered in marshlands located a short distance from Route 130 in Oldmans Township, Salem County, New Jersey in December 1978.

John Doe was estimated to be 35-45 years of age at his time of death. He had black, tightly curled hair and was wearing a long sleeved green and red plaid shirt made by Monzini. In pants pocket were butane lighter, one 25 cent piece, one amber vial with a white top, and one amber vial with a white top which contained orange pills – the markings on the pills were T21 on one side and W on the other side and identified as a prescription drug.

UPDATE 10/20/2025: Investigative genetic genealogy research on this case indicates that Oldmans Township John Doe likely descends from African American families in Kingstree, South Carolina. He may have lived in Pennsylvania or Delaware prior to his death in 1978. We are seeking people of African American Descent from Williamsburg County, SC (especially Kingstree) to upload to GEDmatch to help advance this investigation. Surnames of interest include Scott, Shaw, Tisdale, Frazier, McClary, Singletary, Quinley/Quinerly, McGill, McKnight, and Dixon.

Salem County John Doe 1979 (NJ)

‘s remains were discovered June 2, 1979, in Quinton Township, Salem County, New Jersey. They were found in a shallow grave off of Jericho Road. It is believed he was between 18-22 years old when he died in the winter of 1978-1979.

He was wearing were white Madewell painters pants, “Lee” dark blue jacket (size S) with a gold colored metal “R” on the right and a quarter inch gold cross on the left jacket pocket.Michaelangelo heavy knit V-neck sweater, black Pro Ked sneakers and a gray metal 14 1/2″ chain with decorative gray metal horn ornament.

Montague Jane Doe 1980 (NJ)

The partial skeletal remains of were found near High Point State Park in Sussex County, New Jersey in 1980. She was estimated to be 15-20 years of age and 5’1″ in height. She had dark brown hair, bleached blonde at the time of her death. Blue jeans (34-35 waist, 29-30 inseam) were found near the remains.

The RCNJ IGG Center has partnered with the to identify Montague Jane Doe. is performing necessary laboratory testing to develop a genealogy profile for this Jane Doe. We offer our thanks to NJSP for their trust in our team to restore Jane Doe鈥檚 identity.

Wall Township Remains 2024 (NJ)

During the excavation process for a home renovation in , skeletal remains belonging to several individuals were discovered. The New Jersey State Police Forensic Anthropology unit and the New Jersey State Archaeologist were able to recover records identifying a family the remains may have belonged to.

Burlington County Jane Doe 2004 (NJ)

‘s remains were discovered on October 26, 2004 in a wooded area off of Fellowship Road in Mount Laurel, Burlington County, New Jersey.

She was estimated to be 25-35 years old at the time of her death. She was found wearing distinctive clothing including a leopard print scarf, Hilfiger jean shorts or skirt, white Nike youth sneakers size 5.5 and a black purse or black pocketbook containing Kleenex pack and nail file.

Update, September 2025: The DNA testing for Burlington County Jane Doe is complete, and her genetic relatives demonstrate she may be of central Eurasian descent, likely of the Turkic ethnic group including countries such as Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan. We are sharing this information in hopes that someone who knows Jane Doe may come forward to identify her.

 

Old Bridge Jane Doe 2008 (NJ)

The remains of were found in a wooded area at the abandoned Nike Missile Base in Old Bridge, Middlesex County, New Jersey on February 14, 2008. She likely had brown hair and is estimated to have been 5’5″ tall, 120 – 130 lbs. and between 35-45 years old at the time of her death.

 

 

Hudson River Shore John Doe 2011 (NJ)

The remains of were found April 21, 2011 on the west shore of the Hudson River, Bergen County, New Jersey, after being washed up during a storm. His age was estimated to be 31-51 at the time of his death, and he is estimated to have measured 6’1″ and 225lbs.

Pictured are the white socks with the letters “TH” on sides and black, size 12 Rockport tie shoes that he was wearing at the time of his death.

Students in the inaugural Investigative Genetic Genealogy Certificate Program will assist in the investigative genetic genealogy work to identify Hudson River Shore John Doe.

Mercer County John Doe 2011 (NJ)

John Doe’s remains were discovered in a wooded area off Route 295 in Hamilton, New Jersey, on July 20, 2011.

He was estimated to have been 5′ 9″ tall and 35-56 years of age, with grey hair. He was discovered wearing plaid pajama bottoms and a pin-striped blue and white shirt. Additionally, a gold ring and a watch with a distinctive face plate design were recovered with him.

The NJ Cold Case Regional Task Force, and RCNJ IGG Center are collaborating to identify .

 

 

Ocean County John Doe 1980 (NJ)

and RCNJ IGG Center are working to identify , discovered in March of 1980 in Jackson Township, Ocean County, New Jersey.

John Doe’s remains were discovered in a wooded area and the postmortem interval was unable to be estimated. However, he is believed to have been a Caucasian male, 25-35 years of age at the time of his death.

Burlington County John Doe 1988 (NJ)

has consulted the 69色情视频 IGG Center to assist in the identification of , whose remains were discovered on January 31, 1988.

The man, aged 23-31 at the time of his death, is believed to have died in 1987 or 1988. His hair was brown, he was estimated to be 5’9” in height, and was thought to have weighed around 160 pounds in life.

John Doe was wearing blue jeans and white jockey shorts as well as a black belt with a metallic buckle. He carried several items on his person including a round key ring and a cube of pyrite (“fool’s gold”).

Trenton John Doe 2019 (NJ)

The remains of were discovered in an a residence in Trenton, New Jersey on September 4, 2019. The man wore blue jeans, socks and tan boots and was found to have money, a lighter and an antacid bottle on his person. He is estimated to have been 45-55 years of age at his time of death.

Deerfield Township Jane Doe 2025 (NJ)

On March 6, 2025, the remains of Deerfield Township Jane Doe were discovered near Lebanon Road in a wooded area of Deerfield Township, Cumberland County, New Jersey.

A preliminary examination indicated the decedent was a Black female, approximately 4’6″ to 5’2″ in height and believed to be between 25 and 35 years old. Additional forensic testing suggests she may be of Guatemalan descent.

NORTH CAROLINA CASES
Deer Creek Jane Doe 2001 (NC)

‘s remains were discovered July 21, 2001 at a construction site for the development of the Deer Creek Estates neighborhood in Charlotte, North Carolina. The deceased is estimated to have been an African American woman 20-50 years of age at her time of death. She wore size 4.5 converse sneakers and maroon socks, and it is believed she may have been buried in a plastic bag.

Charlotte Church John Doe 1988 (NC)

During a lot clearing on March 21, 1988, the partial skeletal remains of were found on Church street in Charlotte, North Carolina. The man was determined to be African American, was 50-60 years of age at the time of his death, and was 5’5” to 5’7” in height. He had likely died in 1981-1986.

Near his remains, an olive green dress shirt with sleeves cut off and a safety pin on the right front pocket were discovered.

Charlotte Hunter Doe 2004 (NC)

On October 11, 2004, landscapers discovered the boots and partial skeletal remains of in a wooded area near a hunting tree stand in Charlotte, North Carolina. The individual’s remains were incomplete, with only leg bones, boots and socks discovered.

Charlotte Tent John Doe 2024 (NC)

On November 29, 2024, the remains of were found inside a tent in a grassy area next to a commercial building in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Law enforcement believes his name may be Jose Elvin Garcia, based on identifying tattoos, including a black ink heart with an 鈥淢鈥 on the left hand between the thumb and index finger, and the names 鈥淛ose Elvin Garcia鈥 and 鈥淢aynor Garcia鈥 in cursive on his left forearm.

Harshaw John Doe 2000 (WI)

The remains of were found on October 4, 2000 in Harshaw, Wisconsin. He was estimated to be 45-60 years of age at the time of his death. He carried personal items including a possible portion of Pennsylvania drivers license or ID card, hemp necklace with a gold colored ring attached etched with the monogram “HFM” and a stuffed bunny rabbit.
