Jonathan Marcus

Jonathan Marcus, Esq. ’93,  Assistant General Counsel and Managing Director, KPMG LLP.

Mr. Marcus is an accomplished legal professional. As Associate General Counsel and Managing Director at KPMG LLP, he provides invaluable in-house transactional legal counseling and representation for his globally recognized “Big 4” professional services firm, operating within a highly regulated environment. Before joining KPMG, Mr. Marcus gained valuable experience as an associate attorney in the corporate department of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, as well as in the corporate department of Sills Cummis & Gross P.C.  His tenure at these prestigious law firms equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of corporate law and transactional matters.

Mr. Marcus’s commitment to 69É«ÇéÊÓƵ is evident through his past presidency of the Alumni Association’s Board of Directors and his past involvement as a member of the School of Humanities and Global Studies Alumni Advisory Board. Additionally, he serves as the chairman of the Alumni Association’s KPMG corporate chapter, further strengthening the ties between the college and the professional world.

Beyond his professional and academic pursuits, Mr. Marcus is actively engaged with the Mahwah community. He generously volunteers his time and expertise to support the Mahwah High School performing and music arts programs, Mahwah Youth Sports programs and various local civic organizations, including the Girl Scouts of America. In recognition of his outstanding contributions, he was honored with the 69É«ÇéÊÓƵ President’s Award of Merit in 2009. Mr. Marcus holds a B.A., summa cum laude, in Law and Society from 69É«ÇéÊÓƵ and a J.D., magna cum laude, from Seton Hall University School of Law.
