What is\u00a0CheckPoint<\/em>?<\/h3>\n

CheckPoint<\/em> is a substance use assessment and education (in-person and\/or online) program. It is administered to RCNJ students as a mandated sanction when campus Substance Use Policies are broken.<\/p>\n

CheckPoint<\/em>\u00a0assessment includes:<\/h4>\n
    \n
  1. Review of the Interim Suspension incident<\/li>\n
  2. Substance Use Assessment includes, but is not limited to:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
      \n
    • \n
        \n
      • Assessment of Substance Use – Current, history, date of first use<\/li>\n
      • Frequency of alcohol\/other drug consumption per week\/month<\/li>\n
      • Amount of alcohol\/other drug consumed during each event<\/li>\n
      • Duration of each event<\/li>\n
      • Type of alcohol\/other drug consumed<\/li>\n
      • History of blackouts<\/li>\n
      • Intent to get intoxicated<\/li>\n
      • Negative consequences of AOD use<\/li>\n
      • Effect on relationships, GPA, class\/employment attendance and\/or participation<\/li>\n
      • Legal issues<\/li>\n
      • Family history of alcohol\/other drug use<\/li>\n
      • Personal concerns regarding alcohol\/other drug use<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Following an assessment, possible education\/treatment options include:<\/span><\/h4>\n
          \n
        1. No further education recommended<\/span><\/li>\n
        2. Referral to eCHECKUP TO GO and\/or Cannabis eCHECKUP TO GO\u00a0 (on-line assessment\/intervention followed by an in-person session to review)<\/span><\/li>\n
        3. Referral to BASICS and\/or CASICS \u2013 minimum of two in-person sessions<\/span><\/li>\n
        4. Referral to individual counseling (on campus)<\/span><\/li>\n
        5. Referral to a higher level of treatment such as Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP) or Residential Treatment \u2013 referral is dependent on health insurance<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
