{"id":633,"date":"2014-08-11T14:50:31","date_gmt":"2014-08-11T18:50:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/greek\/?page_id=633"},"modified":"2026-02-20T11:17:07","modified_gmt":"2026-02-20T16:17:07","slug":"recruitment","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/greek\/recruitment\/","title":{"rendered":"Membership Recruitment and Eligibility"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Recruitment Information<\/h3>\n<div class=\"sColumn col-sm-12 col-md-12  equal-height \"><div class=\"col-border\">\n<h4>Interested in Joining Greek Life?<\/h4>\n<p>Complete this\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cglink.me\/2fF\/s33074\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow noreferrer\">Greek Life Interest Form<\/a>\u00a0to receive more information about our National-Pan Hellenic Council (NPHC), Professional Fraternity Council (PFC), and Interfraternity Council (IFC), College Panhellenic Council (CPH), and United Cultural Greek Council (UCGC).<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<h3>Membership Eligibility:<\/h3>\n<p>To be eligible to participate in recruitment, accept a bid and join a fraternity\/sorority, you must currently:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have earned 12-23 Ramapo credits or more and have earned a cumulative 2.5 grade point average or better (or) have earned 24 Ramapo credits or more and have earned a cumulative 2.25 grade point average or better<\/li>\n<li>Be in good academic standing with the College and must not be on disciplinary probation.<\/li>\n<li>Be a full time, enrolled student at the College<\/li>\n<li>Transfer students may join in their first semester without meeting any eligibility requirements other than being in good standing with the College<\/li>\n<li>Attend One In-Person Hazing Prevention Workshop<\/li>\n<li>Sign the New Member Process Acknowledgment<\/li>\n<li>Complete the Required Online Courses assigned by the Coordinator of Fraternities, Sororities, and Student Organizations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Questions to Ask Before Joining:<\/h3>\n<p>Each fraternity or sorority has their own ideals and traditions which make them unique. Below are a variety of commonly asked questions that one might ask when meeting a given fraternity or sorority to find out more about.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>When and where were you founded?<\/li>\n<li>What are the guiding principles of your organization?<\/li>\n<li>What is your philanthropy and how has your chapter contributed?<\/li>\n<li>What is entailed in the education process of new members and what is the time commitment?<\/li>\n<li>What are the financial obligations of your organization?<\/li>\n<li>Has your fraternity\/sorority received any special honors?<\/li>\n<li>What is your organizations history\/reputation at the college?<\/li>\n<li>How many members are in your chapter?<\/li>\n<li>What is expected of active members?<\/li>\n<li>What leadership opportunities are available?<\/li>\n<li>What activities does your chapter sponsor?<\/li>\n<li>What annual events do you hold?<\/li>\n<li>What made you join your specific organization?<\/li>\n<li>What has been the most rewarding experience of being in your organization?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"divider\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/themes\/rcnjrd\/images\/icons\/ramapo-arch-icom_rule.png\" alt=\"Ramapo\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Are you a current student with questions about fraternity and sorority life?
